UFC Gearing Up For At Least 10 Events In 12 Weeks

The UFC have confirmed that they’ll be bringing a UFC ‘Fight Night’ event to Portland on October 1st, and that means that starting from next weekend’s UFC 201 event they now have a total of 10 events scheduled in the space of 12 weeks.

To put it another way, that’s only two weekends without a UFC events in the space of three months. By way of contrast, in 2015 there were a total of 6 events over the same period, or one event every two weeks.

Remarkably, the schedule could get even more crammed soon, with UFC 204 still to be shoe-horned in somewhere, and October 8th having been suggested as a potential landing spot.

The aggressive schedule, which comes hot on the heels of the most hectic week of events in UFC history earlier this month, featuring 4 events in the space of seven days, is sure to bring back debate as to whether the company is in danger of oversaturation.
