UFC Fight Night 91 TV Ratings

UFC Fight Night 91 took place this past Wednesday night on FOX Sport 1 and was watched by an average of 609,000 viewers.

That’s the lowest audience for a UFC event on the channel so far this year, coming in well below the overall average of 981,000 viewers. By way of comparison, the TUF 23 Finale last week drew 1,086,000 viewers.

It’s not hard to see why the card fell wide of the mark. A rare Wednesday night show just a few days after the blockbuster spread of UFC Fight Night 90, the TUF 23 Finale and UFC 200 from Thursday – Saturday was always going to struggle due to fan fatigue and a lack of promotion, making it feel like overkill on the UFC’s part.

On paper the card lacked any real star power too, even before the original main event of Tony Ferguson Vs Michael Chiesa fell through and was replaced by John Lineker Vs Michael McDonald.

As it turns out, the least watched show turned out to be one of the best though, with Lineker Vs McDonald delivering plenty of fist to face action, while late replacement Lando Vannata rose to the occasion in the co-main event, resulting in a barn burning battle with Tony Ferguson.

Thankfully for the UFC’s overworked staff there’s some respite this weekend, but then it’s all hands on deck again the following weekend with UFC On FOX 20: Holm Vs Shevchenko, and then a week later UFC 201: Lawler Vs Woodley to round off a hectic month of MMA action.
