Jose Aldo Determined To Fight Conor McGregor Again At Any Weight

Jose Aldo is heading into a huge fight with Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight title next weekend at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, but the former champion also still has his sights set on his mortal enemy, Conor McGregor.

McGregor took just 13 second to break Aldo’s long unbeaten winning run and seize the 145lb title, and the Brazilian is determined to avenge that defeat at any cost.

So much so in fact, that he’s actually vowed not to retire until he gets that rematch.

“”No way,” Aldo said during a UFC 200 media day in Brazil when asked abour hanging up his gloves. “Only if he stops fighting. As long as he’s in the UFC, this fight will happen. That’s a fact. We will get the belt back and be champion again.”

McGregor is busy training for his upcoming rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 in August, which will take place two divisions above featherweight, leading to some doubt as to whether he’ll ever drop down again to defend his title, but Aldo says that he will step up in weight in order to make the fight happen if that’s what it takes.

“We’ll move up. The UFC will do this fight. It doesn’t matter at which weight. I don’t care.”

Truth be told though, Aldo is so desperate to get his hands on McGregor that’s he’s admitted he’d even be willing to take him on outside the Octagon.

“We catch him in the street. No matter how, we will fight. F*ck it.”
